In recent months, we have set up an average of 2–3 new Shopify stores per week for our e-commerce clients. With such a high volume of projects, a set of tools and apps has emerged that we particularly enjoy working with.
- Matrixify - This app is indispensable for our daily work. We are constantly faced with the challenge of importing or synchronizing very different product catalogs into Shopify. Matrixify is an enormous help here. We edit the catalogs in Excel or Google Sheets, and then the results are imported into the Shopify system using Matrixify. This allows even extremely large catalogs to be adapted so that a clean result is achieved in Shopify.
- Legal texts and Cookie Consent from Händlerbund - For every online retailer, it is a challenge to make their online store legally compliant and GDPR-friendly. Händlerbund offers a membership starting from just €8.99 per month, which allows you to stock up on proper legal texts. The Cookie Consent tool included in the membership is currently the best we know. No extensive settings need to be made. The tool automatically recognizes which cookies are being set. This prevents configuration errors from the outset, and the tool delivers on its promise: compliance for the retailer and transparent information about the cookies used for the store visitor.
- billbee - With Billbee, we are able to quickly set up a well-functioning and clear backend for a Shopify store. This helps with connecting to fulfillment service providers, managing inventory, and generating invoices and delivery notes. In addition to Shopify, many other digital sales channels can be connected and managed. Especially for customers who operate multiple Shopify stores, Billbee provides a clear overview.
- easybill - if the focus in the backend is less on inventory management and more on perfect integration with accounting, then easybill is a very good alternative. Here too, you can easily connect other sales channels.
- We use Section Feed for customers who want to display their Instagram channel on their Shopify store. The app connects the store with its own Instagram account, and you can then easily integrate Instagram posts into the store pages.
- We use Klaviyo with many customers to build automated workflows that bind acquired customers to their respective shops. The excellent integration with Shopify allows us to react to all customer actions in the store, enabling optimal communication with customers once they have been acquired.
Fundamentally, we always work with as few apps as possible. Similar to WordPress, Shopify can quickly develop an unmanageable proliferation of apps, which ultimately cripples the entire system. Soon, no one knows what each app does, and often apps don't interact particularly well with each other.
Shopify, with its own programming language Liquid, offers the possibility to customize the themes used almost infinitely. If you work cleanly here, you can achieve astonishing results and adapt Shopify very precisely and scalably to the requirements of the respective retailer.
