Finally, it's possible to offer B2B customers quotes directly in Shopify. You can either offer this within the same store as your B2C business or, alternatively, launch a separate B2B store.

The most important features that are now easily available:

  • Company profiles
  • Different price lists for customers or customer groups
  • Net payment terms for business customers
  • Customer accounts with various self-service functions

Ideally, all of this works with a seamless connection to existing backend systems. We have already created interfaces to various systems, including SAGE, JTL, plentymarkets, and XENTRAL.

Connecting via the Shopify API is an area we know very well and where we can quickly and easily create good solutions.

It is important to note that the new B2B features can only be used with Shopify Plus. For those who want to start one level smaller, there is still the option of creating purchasing opportunities for their B2B customers through various apps from the Shopify App Store.

Finally, it is possible in Shopify to combine different discounts. Previously, it was always an either-or decision. Now, different discounts can be combined in the checkout. Here is a good overview on the Shopify blog of what is possible or will be possible with this.

This allows you to create immediate added value for your customers. Run promotions tailored to your needs: allow multiple automatic discounts for the same order, enable automatic discounts for free shipping along with other discounts, or let your customers apply a combination of discount codes and automatic discounts to different products in the same order.

A very important trend in the entire Shopify world is the increasingly better opportunities to optimize and automate direct customer communication. With Shopify Flows, there is an exciting tool that allows you to define rules in Shopify for when and with what message customers should be addressed. In conjunction with Shopify Email, you can build automated workflows that are guaranteed to lead to higher customer loyalty and ultimately to more sales.

It is also interesting that Shopify has just announced an investment in Klaviyo. This makes Klaviyo an integral part of the Shopify family, and we are excited to see what else develops from this in the future. Klaviyo already provides perfect integration with Shopify and the ability to react to almost all customer signals from the Shopify store with a corresponding action.
